Question for the #writing / #querying community - do you feel pressured to include fantasy/speculative elements in your writing? I keep hearing how historical romance is dead because of romantasy, and I'm wondering if straight up historical fiction is in the same spot.

I have woken up today hating my book title and started trying to come up with something better. I know they're often ultimately temporary but wow, titles are so hard.

Weighing up my options for future pitch events in light of world events, I really want to say goodbye to The Other Place, but there seemed to be more engagement there for the most recent event. Did anyone have the opposite experience?

My yard is full of leaves and branches from the winds and ash from the fires. Started clean up today but I think it’s going to be a job I have to do over the course of a week. Sweeping and raking in a mask is no joke 😅
