The only reason Spider-Man works is miserable NYC traffic. His kryptonite is car culture. Just picture him running, out of breath on Maysville Pike while an annoyed cyclist passes him. Or maybe he just “patrols” the West-40 exit because he can swing between the interstate-visible fast food signs.

It’s similar to a personal rule of mine; I try never to say “racist” when talking to conservatives on Facebook. It sucks the oxygen out of whatever broader point I was trying to make. Folks get triggered.

That’s never a winning argument, no. It’s a slam-the-door-and-walk-away argument. It’s an admission that your ego is bruised. The best discussions with other Christians, I’ve found, is less about finding “correct” answers and more about sitting in the presence of good questions.

We went to the Fieldhouse from St. T. But before fifth grade, I was in Roseville where we had a proper grass field. My memories of red rover are from there
