gotta say the biggest problem with the "these ICE guys aren't trained enough" argument is that american policemen are trained to see anything larger than a hamster as an imminent deadly threat in all situations

Really it’s a wild strategy to instill an entire generation with such a level of existential dread that they basically believe their futures are forfeit dead-ends, and then also tell them “if you talk back to us we’re going to kill you”. Almost have to admire the uh, boldness of it all

I‘ve said for a while that the age of social media might be coming to an end because the relative cultural conditions that enabled it (nominally open liberalism) are, themselves, coming to an end and this kinda feels like that. LLM spam/slop, widespread nazism, nihilist terror etc kill social media.

I‘ve said for a while that the age of social media might be coming to an end because the relative cultural conditions that enabled it (nominally open liberalism) are, themselves, coming to an end and this kinda feels like that. LLM spam/slop, widespread nazism, nihilist terror etc kill social media.

A new North Dakota bill would require stores to pull any book with any "material harmful to minors" from the shelves.
For those in the cheap seats, that effectively means ANY mention of sex, sexuality or gender.
