Hi everyone! I'm Karin, and I love to draw trees, moss, and fantasy art. My goals for this year are to do more traditional art (mostly ink and watercolor) and more Tolkien art!

So a while back me and my partner @bjornvandesand decided to try and learn gamedev together, and what better way to do that than to try and make a very small game? It's very short, and very imperfect, but we had a lot of fun and learned a lot!

The Artist - Cor Blok's illustrations were on the front of the first Dutch LotR paperbacks from 1965. They were the first LotR edition I read, as my mom owned them, and seeing this art always fills me with nostalgia.

I'm rewatching Kaos and it's really such a damn shame it was cancelled. It's such a great take on the Greek gods with all their messy, petty, human emotions. Also the Fates were really great, as was Dionysus. Would've loved to have seen the end of this tale but alas :(

A while back I was really stuck with my art, so I did a bunch of DnD character requests over on Reddit. I barely do character art any more nowadays, so they were a nice refresher! Although the backgrounds did start to creep back in, trying to take over :)

Trees - Treebeard is one of my favourite characters. I really appreciate how Tolkien gave voices and personality to the trees, giving them agency. There are many times I've wished our RL trees could speak up and defend themselves.

Horrified by this e-mail I got from a real illustration agency this morning, advertising the chance to *USE AI* to generate images in the style of one of their illustrators. You join their plan for $$$, pick an artist, give the AI a prompt, then reach out if you want specialization.
