Exactly, and the US taxes aren’t actually lower when you factor in their healthcare premiums. Low taxes are only good until you need something from society…you get sick, your roads are falling apart, you don’t have air traffic controllers, your kids can’t get a good education, etc.
Average healthcare costs in the US:
Giving birth? $18,000
Cancer treatment? $150,000
One month ICU stay? Between 30k and 150k.
That’s not including copays, deductibles, interest and all the other hoops you have to jump through.
Cost in Canada? $0.
Cost in the UK? $0.
Cost in Australia? $0.

It’s far past time. Healthcare should be accessible for all…if your taxes don’t go to helping you and your family live healthy lives, what on earth are they for? Oh ya…bailing out other countries while Americans scrape together an existence. Socialism means a society who takes care of its citizens.

The GOP are so dumb. It’s very easy to see who pays the tariff, the importer. They’ve taken $106B from US companies who in turn raise prices for US purchasers. No foreigner pays the US tariff. A US company I work with paid $60M in tariffs this qtr, and they expect to pay $100M next qtr.

The brain drain will take decades to recover, mostly because trust is broken - no one believes the US is capable of doing the right thing any longer.
If Trump keeps firing America’s top scientists, other countries will hire them—and we’ll be the ones paying the price.

Yep. The math shows that US people pay less tax but much more in all the other expenses like healthcare. I pay tax in Canada, highest tax bracket, and nothing on top of that…my total tax is less than US taxes + extras/healthcare. This idea that lower taxes equals a better country is complete bunk.

Exactly. The implosion of the US currently is due to the notion that greed is good. This isn’t how healthy societies work, everyone is part of a society and therefore all needs must be addressed.
