it makes sense that a bunch of unartistic tech bros would reduce art to the act of replication, when it’s literally the human element that makes something art.

i bought a book because i liked a paragraph that ended up being an excerpt from a book i already have and actually bought years ago because of the chapter the excerpt was taken from.

The secret to being successful as an artist... is to just make things you like.
Because success isn't the big job in the end, but genuinely enjoying your work. My big portfolio pieces from my professional jobs rarely give me the same joy looking back as, say, a sketch from the bus.

yesterday i spent >1hr at the pharmacy picking up overpriced meds. i called the insurance company who fwded me to another company who then gave me wrong info, which i did not know til i’d hung up & stood back in line. in conclusion, pls send my xmas cards to the CVS in queens. i live here now. ty.

saw a movie (wicked) in a theater for the first time in a long time (it's good) & grossed out by all the commercials they show before previews now. what happened to the trivia that loops over & over til you've memorized all the answers so you can act like you've accomplished something that day huh?!

starter packs are basically human algorithms. i’m gonna do this the old-fashioned way! that is, declare i’m above presets then manually go through each and every feed until i get overwhelmed and start indiscriminately following every starter pack while claiming agency.
