I think any sloganeering that requires people to read theory in order to understand the point you’re trying to make - and, if you don’t read the theory, makes you seem completely insane - is bad sloganeering.

I feel a deep sadness living in a world where “murder is bad, you shouldn’t murder people” is considered a hot take. How quickly people who claim to value morality abandon it for a vengeance sugar-high!

The funniest thing about cyclists is that, on every post where they claim they’re not constantly running red lights and breaking traffic rules, there are dozens of comments from people explaining why they run red lights and break traffic rules.

Was discussing rent control with a guy on Reddit and he (unprompted by me) brought up San Francisco as a place that has strong rent control and still develops lots of housing.

In what reality do these people live? Because it is not the one in which I live.

We all have way too much confidence in our understanding of how things work.

I think the nicest thing about BlueSky isn’t even the people, it’s the lack of ads every 4 tweets. Runner-up: lack of obvious spam reply accounts trying to earn revshare on every large poster’s tweets.

Painfully accurate.

It’s a shame that most of the conversation on Bluesky is about Elon Musk, or at least among the people I follow.
