During World War II, the Red Cross refused to accept blood from black donors
In December 1941, a few days after the bombing of Pearl Harbor and America’s entry into World War II, a Detroit mother named Sylvia Tucker visited her local Red Cross donor center to give blood.

The Immigration Act of 1924 helped keep out Italian immigrants, who were considered non-white. Dino Paul Crocetti changed his name to Dean Martin for his career. Frank Sinatra refused to change his name. Here he is reminding kids what it means to be accepting of differences…and not act like Nazis.
