The day was 9/11/2001. I was packing to fly/move to St. Louis, MO from NY state to begin my national service with AmeriCorps. Tragedy struck the U.S. & I, like everyone else, was overcome. My flight on 9/12 was canceled due to the nationwide ground stop. I grieved with the nation for those lost.
