Just a guy in Lincoln, Nebraska that enjoys being outdoors, seeing my kids do great things and letting the Huskers, Liverpool and Sporting KC have too much control over my happiness. I'm KØFTZ on amateur radio and am always down for a great beer or coffee.

I’m VERY excited that Drum Corps International is coming back to Nebraska. It has been many years, during which we’ve primarily gone to Fort Collins to see it. Troopers, Cavs, Blue Devils… It’s going to be an excellent show. https://www.dci.org/news/drums-across-nebraska-omaha-ne/

Welp. My 50th trip around the sun is complete. It’s always fun to hear from family and friends to celebrate the beginning of another orbit. 🎂

I can't stress this enough: Outdoor severe weather sirens are not intended for people indoors.

They are meant to be heard by people outside and within range of each siren.

I helped build a government AI system. DOGE fired me, rolled the AI out to the whole agency, and implied the AI can do my job and the jobs of the others they've fired.

It can't. But, what DOGE accidentally revealed about themselves in the process is fascinating. 🧵

Some friends and I had a fantastic #winterfieldday weekend at a state park cabin. How many radios do 3 people need? 30ish? 😂 We used meshtastic, erected a variety of wire, horizontal and loop antennas, used phone modes, data modes and cw/morse code and much more. Can’t wait for next year! #hamradio
