Wonderful night to watch stars. There are these new gadgets, Seestar astrophoto systems, that give amateurs a power tool to study the heavens.

A Pileated Woodpecker in disarray, breeze blowing through his crest, eyes closed as he digs for juicy bugs.

Anyone else feeling a bit disheveled on this Wednesday after the time change and Election Day?

Blue Jays are part of the crow family, as my 5yo who is much more knowledgeable about the natural world than I am, recently informed me.

My bird knowledge is poor, I just like to draw them. Grateful to have a young naturalist at home.
