<div class="field field-field-text"><p>Knesset's National Security Committee approved a bill that would allow the execution of Palestinian prisoners, local media reported. The committee referred the bill to the Knesset General Assembly for discussion and voting in the upcoming legislative session, reports said. </p>
<p>Israeli national security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir thanked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his support of the bill, adding that "judges should not be allowed to express an opinion on this law."</p>
<p>On Friday, Ben Gvir posted a video of himself standing over a row of Palestinian prisoners lying prone with their hands tied, in which he calls for the “death penalty for terrorists”.</p>
<p>In footage shared on his personal Telegram channel, Ben Gvir speaks to the camera while pointing at a dozen detainees face down in front of an Israeli flag.</p>
<p>“These guys, the Nukhba who came to kill children, women, our babies. Look at them today,” the far-right minister says, referring to the special forces unit of Hamas's military wing.</p>
<p>“But there's still something that must be done: death penalty for the terrorists.”</p>

Keir Starmer, who insisted last month that leaving the ECHR “would be a profound mistake" that should be resisted at every turn, has told MPs to abstain on the Reform bill to do so
I’m told Labour MPs have been told by whips to *abstain* in the vote on Nigel Farage’s ten-min rule bill on leaving the ECHR, which has left some furious. Whips’ arguments seems to be to just ignore it. Labour MPs worry it leaves Lib Dems/Greens looking like only they care on this.

Also because the people inside it are too cowardly to either spend the money or demolish/stop using the building to not spend it, so their staff have to work in a deathtrap instead.
We are encouraged not to see this as a metaphor for how Britain is run.

Question - if wealth taxes don’t work and raise only paltry amounts, how come whenever we start seriously discussing them rich people start pouring resources into trying to start race and class wars as a distraction?

Just watched Channel 4 News. Apparently Starmer only took GB news (Chope) with him as Press on his Albania trip. And in the interview he uses “island of strangers” twice - also seen looking at vans & we see grim facilities. He thinks he can be the new GB news poster-boy.

This should be the first metric of success for the new government on criminal justice. Not officer numbers. Not crime rates. Not prisons. Just this:
