The head of our country’s government is in the early stages of consolidating total power. We must of course reject this, but that is not enough. We have to respond by creating a different and better kind of American politics than we have seen before.

Damn, this conclusion:

“We yet cling to the hope that it is not naïve to believe our good brethren in the Executive Branch perceive the rule of law as vital... This case presents their unique chance to vindicate that value and to summon the best that is within us while there is still time.”

In 2019, RFK Jr visited Samoa to spread anti-vax lies, spurring a measles outbreak that led to the deaths of 83 people - mostly children.

We can’t let that tragedy repeat in Texas. The MMR vaccine is 97% effective at preventing measles. Let’s stop the spread.

If your elected official’s D.C. mailbox is full you can likely leave a message or speak to a staffer at one of the smaller state offices. I have found this to be true for Senator Cornyn and Senator Cruz on a consistent basis.

I just left messages for my elected officials regarding the importance of upholding the rule of law. I was dismayed to see so few calls have been made on this topic - especially in light of Trump’s recent post on social media (61,427 calls out of 5,268,352 on 5calls

This. Especially Senate Republicans.
The greatest political scandal today is not what Trump is doing. It is the fact that congressional Republicans have given up their role in the constitutional system as a check on the executive branch. If we are in a constitutional crisis, it is as much on Mike Johnson and John Thune as anyone else.

The extreme MAGA Republican budget will close hospitals, shut down nursing homes and deprive children of healthcare.

There are 215 Democrats in the House who actually want to love and cherish Medicaid, not destroy it.

We only need three House Republicans to join us.

Much of which we would have paid to destroy as their lifespan expired.
