Planners call it the "Popsicle Test" for a walkable, child-friendly neighbourhood. Can a child safely walk to a store, buy a popsicle, and get home before it melts?

The reason this place has such a good vibe, the reason it's so fun to be here, the reason why you came here, is because of the trans and queer people and Black people and weirdos and freaks and a lot of kind souls made it that way.

I made a zine! It's dedicated to Palestinian folklore and folk religion. This first issue is the folktale 'The Promise Kept' which comes from Gaza.

It's available for your own set price, or free if you like!

In case folks are reading this NYT piece as part of their Halloween festivities, note this major fail: "The 1st recorded emergence occurred in the 14th century during the siege of Kaffa, a Genoese trading port in Crimea, where the Mongols reportedly catapulted disease-ridden corpses over the walls."

New large study finds COVID may increase risk of heart attacks and strokes for three years after infection.

Unlike other infections, the elevated heart risks from infection did not appear to diminish over time, a striking finding that the researchers say is "unique to COVID."

THREAD! I implore cis friends to read this and think about it.

Also to recognize that trans people are in a very difficult time right now, so we might not want to educate you on this at the moment.
My strong advice to all cis people is to consider everything you've learned about trans people over the past ten years to likely need revision.

Not only is trans theory rapidly evolving, most previously accepted stuff is influenced by transmisogynistic academic work only recently being challenged.

if a studio or streaming service writes off and purges a show or movie for tax reasons they should be legally required to put it up on youtube in full hd and formally cede that work into the public domain

Why, oh why, would anyone use ChatGPT “to find sources”?!? It doesn’t find sources! It doesn’t run queries!
What it does is produce text that follows patterns in the texts it has been trained on. Patterns. So it writes text that could be plausible, not text that is true.
Why don’t people get this?!?
