Pubs could stay open longer under Starmer plan to revive British night out

Who will provide extra police, staff, public services?

Nights out restricted due to cost of living crisis

Govt can help hospitality industry by cutting energy/water bills, rents, improving public transport.

Labour’s plan for compulsory digital ID risks creating a more authoritarian state.

Under constant surveillance, we would have to pass through digital checkpoints just to live our daily lives — with even more barriers for minorities, migrants and the digitally excluded.

UK inflation is caused by profiteering

Since the pandemic electricity generation companies hiked profit margins by 198%.
Electricity/Gas supply margins up 363%.
Shipping up by 650 times.
Health and social work up by 118%.

People impoverished. Can't rebuild economy without ending profiteering.
If the government wants economic growth it must bring essential industries into public ownership
Successive governments clobber households and small businesses by hiking interest rates to manage inflation, but don’t inconvenience corporations.

Why the reshuffle alone won’t change the UK govt’s fortunes.

It needs to junk neoliberal policies, never-ending austerity; directly invest in infrastructure and redistribute income and wealth.

Must improve purchasing power of the bottom 50% to energize economy.

This should also be banned?

Another tactic for driving down people's aspirations.

UK can bail out banks, subsidise corporations, fund wars but somehow thecan't tackle poverty.

Last yr HMRC didn't collect £46.8bn of taxes; over £500bn since 2020.

Fraud on PIP, 0%.
Attendance Allowance 0%.
Disability Living Allowance 0.1%
Employment and Support Allowance 1.5%
Carer’s Allowance 3%
Housing benefit 3.9%
Pension Credit 3.9%

Why is Govt taking powers to snoop 24/7 on bank accounts of all benefit recipients?

NHS will be a shell doling out contracts to the private sector. 30% -40% of money will vanish in profits. Money will buy less.

Must resist.
