Working in and around government my whole life: #EndGunViolence advocate, CJ researcher, public policy specialist. I carry Connecticut in my heart. Warren Democrat. 2 cents! 🏳️‍🌈

Government is the art of overcoming obstruction to good ideas because they cost someone money.
Let’s generate some revenue, gentlefolk!

Context for this is I was talking to a femme queer friend about how men treat her, and she said they’re always so kind, attentive, interested — “whatever, whatever” — so she’s able to have lots of sex if she wants. It reminded me of Elaine yada-yada’ing sex on Seinfeld.
Did you just “whatever, whatever” being hot?

There are a lot of queer people on the planet, and there are more every day, which is something people need to start realizing and understanding.

My closet really reminds me of ex-boyfriends.

My table earlier tonight. Headed to bed now, but I love nights when the good things in life have me feeling inspired.

Reading Allen Ginsberg in a park two blocks from the White House this morning. They can never kill our revolution.

Connecticut needs more progressive revenue streams to fund our social service infrastructure — which includes, among other things, paying social service workers more so that they can afford housing, healthcare, higher education, and childcare in their communities.

Loving queer people changes the people who love them.

Idk why this is speaking to me so much right now, but it is.

Ironic being a criminal justice system researcher and an abolitionist.

Getting excited about a new video game with a cute boy? Dreams do come true, just not always in the way you’d expect.

Josh Elliott is doing the damn thing here in Connecticut. Might have to get behind him & send in a donation to help him qualify for the Citizens' Election Program. A candidate fighting for progressive taxation and public investment earning public funding to run—that’s the spirit of democratic access

My third or fourth failed attempt at a relationship collapsed this weekend, and the photo memories on my phone are still of my ex-boyfriend. Yay for me. We keep going.

I always think about Heidi Heitkamp and Mark Pryor voting no and Joe Manchin and John Tester voting yes on the 2013 Background check bill. Being "moderate" didn't help Pryor and Heitkamp, they immediately got smoked, while Tester and Manchin stayed in office another decade.
Ezra’s claim here runs into the challenging fact that abortion rights are more popular than Democrats in red states

People will really have opinions on professional athletes’ compensation and not care that the healthcare workers’ unions caring for the sick, elderly, and disabled in their communities are fighting for pennies.

When will we admit to ourselves: this will keep happening until the guns are gone.

I guess I like boys who fall in love easy. That’s why they’re all taken—by the men they fell for when they were 18.
