Turns out the very territorial blue jay couple that live outside my window did have a nest hidden somewhere! This bedraggled adolescent was in the little (protected) courtyard behind my house when I went out for a walk.

Lovely little wandering garter snake (Thamnophis elegans vagrans; one of three) found on a birding walk this morning! We also found an incredibly docile female bull snake that I didn’t get pics of because I was showing the group how to tell the sex of a snake 🐍

LRT I haven’t called my reps in a few weeks and I’m out of practice, but I followed the 5calls.org script for the budget reconciliation and added a line about being concerned about the deregulation of AI & how it can cost jobs and lead to the aggressive spread of misinformation.

Good lord just what the hell is up today. A potential ban on any regulation for AI for the next 10 years? This includes good bills like AB 412 of legislation protecting folks from Deepfakes! Wtf?! Call your congressmen and women asap to tell them to take this down!
