Climate collapse is bad buuuuut also damn this is fantastic game-environment inspiration. Hadn't really considered a snow swamp before.
Ever wonder what snow in the swamp would look like? This is 5 miles into the Louisiana swamps in the Atchafalaya basin... it's unreal... having lived down there for the first 28 years of my life, we never saw anything like this.

Steam added this "helpfulness system" to the recent reviews panel. Ever since, negative reviews get automatic focus, while positive reviews are hidden until they meet some unknown metric. Maybe this was needed for AAA games, but the change has really hurt indie sales.

It occurs to me, after reading posts getting it spectacularly wrong, that there are a lot of misconceptions over how game studios organize and, in particular, who makes the actual decisions about what ends up in your game. Much of it is by folks who don't *try* to get it... but not all, surely. 1/🧵

I've said before, I have it as a contract point that my narrators have to be actual live humans (same with my editors, copyeditors, cover artists, etc). If you think your work can be sufficiently narrated by an "AI" then you are implicitly saying some very negative things about your work.
Former audiobook narrator and publisher. This was rampant over 2 years ago in the narration community. A few big names sold their voice prints for hefty 6 figures, and now authors are turning to AI and talking about it at conferences as a way to make more money without sacrificing quality. 2 years?!

Here's the thing. Not everyone is going to agree with this, but: I don't think a writer NEEDS to be a minority in order to write a minority. Sometimes those characters should simply exist, and we want them to. But if that character's story is ABOUT their experience as a minority? That's different.
