Don’t sleep on Louisiana! I’ll be moderating this peek under the hood of our historic, 30pt defeat of 4 far-right constitutional amendments. Come hear how we did it and the blueprint it offers for beating back MAGA everywhere! #NN25

the reaction to Mamdani's campaign is clear proof that centrism is a reactionary ideology, and has nothing to do with a pragmatic desire to win.
A party that actually wanted to mobilize young and disillusioned voters would be studying Zohran Mamdani’s campaign like the Bible

🚨 THREAD: They’re trying to trick us, but we’re not falling for it. 🚨

On March 29, Louisiana votes on 4 shady amendments that give politicians more power & less accountability.

They hid this election in March, hoping we wouldn’t notice. But we did. 👀

Let’s break it down. 🧵👇

What is it going to take to get Dems to stop segmenting the electorate and treating everyone as single issue voters? As if all (93% non-union) workers care about is unions or all Latinx voters care about is immigration, Black voters CJR, women abortion etc. etc. etc. *screams into the void*

Y’all, they’re trying to pull a fast one.

LA lawmakers are using smoke & mirrors to pass 4 amendments, thinking we won’t notice.

Shysters, all of them
NEW: Louisiana's surgeon general — who last week ended all state vaccine promotion and events — appears to have misrepresented his credentials.

State communications describe him as a family medicine physician. But he's not listed as certified by @TheABFM.

www.wwno.org/public-healt...
No evidence Louisiana’s Surgeon General is board-certified family physician
He’s not registered with the Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians either, the organization told WWNO/WRKF.

I really wish the Left would invest in winning back seats in red states. So many Dem leaders are sweet summer children from blue states who have never had to ditch the condescension and try to win over voters. Win a seat in Louisiana or Mississippi on a progressive platform and you’ll know better
democrats—resist the urge to look at these people and say “oh you are very stupid” and instead say, “here is a voter who looked at biden and kamala and saw no solutions for the most pressing problems in their life.”

how do you fix that? bold rhetoric and action to back it up. and better propaganda.
There’s gonna be so many variations on this theme over the next three years and eleven months. www.wsj.com/politics/pol...

I am BEGGING Democrats not to “talk more about the price of eggs” but to tell an affirmative story about the role they will make government play in a more just and equitable society
"Opposition to this set of policies is going to require an affirmative case for a different set of policies. And that is going to require articulating some general principles about how society should be organized," writes @jwmason.bsky.social. Excellent piece. jwmason.org/slackwire/wr...

The Trump Admin needs sheriffs for mass deportations, but sheriffs have the legal discretion to decide on immigration enforcement.

@nipnlg.bsky.social's Sirine Shebaya & Sheriff Accountability Action's Max Rose say sheriffs are right to oppose ICE collaboration:

Opinion | Sheriffs are right to stand up against demands that they do ICE’s dirty work
The Trump administration has a problem: Local jurisdictions have the legal discretion to make their own decisions on immigration enforcement.
