I say, knowledgeable computer boffin types. Is there any way to stop a vulnerable teen from Google searching harmful content? For example, can we filter out certain words that may be used to find sites that encourage self-harm etc?

I can’t tell you how glad I am that we took the fam to America last year.
We joked that we should do it before America imploded.
Little did we know.

I feel so sorry for all the lovely people we met there.

Watching my 17 year old try to finish an assignment. I’m unsure as to whether I should strangle him, myself, or just throw his computer out the window.

I feel a responsibility to post something at least mildly intelligent, given that more people are following me every time I log on here.
(maybe not today though).

This beautiful specimen, Fizz, aka "The Lovable Idiot" was hit by a car. Only 3 years old, and the best muppet ever. Not sure if my face will be suitable for public viewing for weeks to come. So devastated. (and we have to tell the kids when they get home from school).

The more I watch the way Trump and his lackeys treated PM Zelenskyy, the angrier I get. The scope of the set-up, the bullying, the intimidation.
They've made Putin very happy.

A fantastic evening listening to the wonderful writing of David Sedaris, being read to the sold out crowd by the man himself; wearing a fabulous pair of pantaloons. (He was wearing the pantaloons, not me).

It's taken a while, but I've finally deactivated my Twitter/X account. I feel a little bit cleaner.

What a good idea. Me too.
I intend to use this new, less-sullied place to:

1) Make gently humourous observations about everyday life;
2) Post charming pictures;
3) Crush my enemies utterly beneath my heel.

Trying to get compassionate fares from Air NZ is enough to make me cry more than I already have.
I'm not sure how to prove my aunty is my aunty, she's genuinely dead, and any help with reducing the cost of the exorbitant fares at this time of year would be helpful.

Trying to buy Xmas gifts for a 17 year old boy is next level frustrating.

My Xmas tree and decorations have been up for 2 weeks already. That’s completely normal and cool, right?

You're not "late to the party" when you enjoy an old book for the first time. Books don't have an RSVP deadline. The party started long ago, and guests show up when they're meant to.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but if all you accomplish this weekend is reading a riveting novel cover-to-cover whilst drinking multiple kettles of tea and consuming a scandalous amount of croissants, then you will have accomplished more than enough.

As expected, I forgot I’m on this platform and haven’t posted. Now I feel honour bound to go and do something interesting to actually post about.

My third new bird replacement platform. I hope I have the brain capacity for this.
