I keep thinking—as a historian—that it’s rare when doing research to find a politician who reveals his nasty innards so blatantly—with no sense of self or shame.

Future historians who didn’t live through this will be absolutely open-mouthed.
Per @garretthaake.bsky.social, the extremely tacky "presidential wall of fame" that lines the colonnade to the West Wing now has obviously-Trump-penned plaques insulting or praising the presidents.

Pretty much every decision made by WaPo over the last year has made me grateful I cancelled my subscription and gave that money instead to The Onion.
The Washington Post is launching a personalized AI podcast, saying users will be able to "shape their own briefing, select their topics, set their lengths, pick their hosts and soon even ask questions using our Ask The Post AI technology."

I have seen the very DC brained take that the Nuzzi/Lizza scandal is not newsworthy. I very much disagree. It really highlights so much of what is wrong in our media.

A reminder that seven years ago almost to the day, the CIA determined that Mohammed Bin Salman ordered the killing of @washingtonpost.com journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

I hired and worked with Jamal for a year.

The NYT makes my career in local news indescribably more difficult by being lumped in as “the media” with them. I swear at one point they did actual journalism.

I love when CBS has Iowa games because the broadcast crew is always so confused.

After years of Alabama, Georgia, etc. being exposed to Ferentz ball causes their brains to short circuit. But at least they give the wave its due.

I was curious about the previous record for passing yards by a QB 40-years-old or older since Joe Flacco set a new record with 470 today and apparently Google’s AI assistant still can’t do basic counting.

Why are we trying to shoehorn AI into everything when it’s still incapable of basic things?

Utah is up 43-0 on Colorado and is out gaining them 398 to -18. It's halftime.

I don’t think it’s hyperbole to say that’s probably the worst first half performance I’ve ever seen.

There's a lot to dislike about the current state of ESPN but the lack of nearly anyone there capable of covering things with "capital J" Journalism chops as opposed to the usual takes ahoy stuff is probably the most egregious.
Not long ago, ESPN would have covered today’s bombshell story with a heavy dose of Bob Ley, Jeremy Schaap, and Roger Cossack.

We are a long ways from that era in media and are never going back. It’s a sad reality of modern day media and extends well beyond sports media.
