My maternal grandfather's 3 best friends were the mayor, a bank president, and a midget who worked for a circus. My own circle of acquaintance has ranged from homeless derelicts to royals. My advice to you? Get out more. You might learn something.

I was fortunate enough to grow up with a substantial knowledge of my ancestors. If your family forgot their heritage by all means "look up the family tree" but you may want to consider the possibility that they had a good reason to forget.
