Honestly, I’m happy for them. Let them have an ounce of dignity. Damn.

It is DARK in the nonprofit world right now. We’re so deeply connected to the federal world. I thought I was prepared bc I worked in refugee resettlement during the last term. I was not prepared. This time around is so much worse

A clarification because I'm seeing this widely misunderstood. This only applies to federal contractors. It does NOT apply to other employers. Title VII of the Civil Rights Act (the main federal work anti-discrimination law) remains in effect (and can only be rescinded by Congress)
The Department of Labor is ending all investigations and enforcement related to discrimination in the workplace.

This doesn’t promote merit-based work.
It promotes and protects bigotry.

Have this conversation with your mom, your cousin, or your best friend instead. If your picture is going to be on dateline because you’re dead, it’s probably your spouse who did it.

i strongly disagree with this. most likely outcome is that Trump tries to do a bunch of insane shit, goes through with some of it, it sucks, voters hate it, he loses a working congressional majority, gets creamed in the 2026 midterms, and essentially becomes a lame duck as his dementia worsens
The likeliest result by far is that Trump and his posse of madmen will continue to engage in ever-more-insane and ever-more-horrific acts of tyranny until they finally provoke a coup or revolution.
The rot will get much worse post-J20. Believe me.

My very first job was at a party city. That’s where I learned to curl ribbons with a pair of scissors. Good times.
