My publisher’s been very patient. I’m not doing everything I said I’d do to promote this book (out in a few weeks) because I’m an organizer in a city under federal attack. My days are full and emotionally exhausting. Any help getting the word out means a lot. It's a book people need right now.

To implement robust mitigations across Geomys, I did a survey of open source project compromises in 2024/2025.

Three root causes dominate: phishing, control handoff, and unsafe GitHub Actions triggers. All three can be systematically avoided.

If you've lost power due to flooding or severe storms in your area and are using a portable generator to keep the power on, make sure it is running outdoors and at least 20ft away from your home/shelter. Never run it indoors. Generators can produce deadly levels of carbon monoxide in minutes.

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.
