That was one of the most batshit press conferences of Trump's public life. He brandished a photo of Putin and promised to deploy the US military to occupy Chicago, New York, and San Francisco. A sane country would be moving toward impeachment and removal right now.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

Trump has moved from saying you need a photo ID to purchase groceries to barfing out a conspiracy theory that China sent people here with fake license *plates* they used to cast fraudulent votes.

Anyway, this escaped dementia patient has the nuclear arsenal at his command, have a great weekend.
Trump: "That's a takeover of our govt. Not only they did they cheat -- I guess you saw yesterday, it came out with China & the license plates. Tens of thousands of cards. They used those cards to vote on the second election. The one 2020. Because as everybody here knows I won that election by a lot"

Everything that’s happened over the past six months has been a response to an imaginary crisis. There is no immigrant invasion. No trade crisis. No scientific or governance crisis. Just people completely high off their own supply trying to fundamentally reorder society. None of this had to happen.

CBO is a nonpartisan, neutral org. Its director, Phill Swagel, worked in the GWBush administration and was appointed by Republican lawmakers to his current post. For many reasons, it's laughable that he or his professional colleagues would be cooking the books to help Democrats.
COLLINS: Republicans like Ron Johnson and Rand Paul say the bill will add to the deficit. Is the White House's position that those Republicans are blatantly wrong?

LEAVITT: It is ... there hasn't been a single staffer in the entire CBO that has contributed to a Republican since 2000

I’m still baffled at how America took one of the basic principles of the presidency — the occupant shouldn’t be able to benefit financially from the office — and just said, nah, that just doesn’t count for this one guy.
