Hello, I wrote this today and I think it's important context about data centers that people in Kentucky should know about, as utility companies and the legislature try to lure them here and justify spending billions on new power plants.
LG&E and KU are seeking PSC permission to build out $3.7 billion of power plants, largely due to its forecasted rise in data center energy demand. But critics say that demand is speculative and ratepayers could end up holding the bag, citing the failed Oldham County project.
