There are many lines that stood out to me while reading "Did The Science Wars Take Place?" (my physical copy is already dog-eared and full of highlighter ink), but I feel this hints at something I've been trying to articulate for a while as an artist.

Gillis operates on such a level I know I'm never likely to fully grasp him on the first read. Yet taking the time over his work has never failed to blow my tiny mind. This book is no exception. It's so useful as to be essential and deeply personal to boot. Read it. Re-read it. Then read it again.

I really fucking hate all the Memorial Day "died defending our freedom" bullshit. There hasn't been a US war in my lifetime that was about freedom. And even WWII was entered *primarily* for economic and geopolitical reasons, not freedom.
