The FBI is a rule-bound and tight-lipped institution, but 45 current and former agents spoke to The New York Times Magazine anyway — a sign of the extreme alarm rippling through it. Many said that with the agency under Kash Patel's leadership, the U.S. is less safe. nyti.ms/4qzxs0f

Even as ICE receives $170B in new funding, it has stopped paying for medical care for detainees — including life-saving medications, dialysis, and chemotherapy treatments.

Remember: Over 70% of detainees have no criminal convictions.

Cruelty on steroids.

Was just talking to someone about how the Greenland thing is uniquely inexplicable. All the rest of Trump's evil fits into a neat story basically of racism, red meat to the base, and megalomania. But the Greenland thing is so obviously self-destructive that it makes me think he really is a traitor

There is simply no coherent conception of U.S. national interest or even Trump's personal interest---no brute realism, no matter how simplistic---that can make sense of deliberately destroying NATO. The only explanation that rationalizes it at all is treasonous

Where is the business community and corporate leaders of Minnesota based companies in speaking up? Why aren't the big law firms sending lawyers to represent the people being attacked?

We are not at the end of this authoritarianism, we are at the beginning. And, sadly, we are on our own.
