I get so pissed and disheartened and then I watch the Leafs Blueprint where Tony gave the game puck to Laughts for a goddam block and then I would bar brawl for these sons of bitches because I'm fucking stupid. Just one. That's all I want before I die.

Feature not a bug
Just an obvious point that anyone with the inside word on when these these total reversals are going to be announced is in a position to make almost limitless amounts of money. Don't forget that given the kind of people who make up this administration.

So. Americans. What are you going to do about it? Just keep scrolling on your phones, and going about your daily lives, and pretending everything is fine?
Tom Friedman: "This is a total perversion of U.S. foreign policy practiced by every president since World War I. My fellow Americans, we are in completely uncharted waters, led by a president, who — well, I cannot believe he is a Russian agent, but he sure plays one on TV."

Trump’s behavior in the Oval Office with Zelensky was an unparalleled break with American foreign policy.

Vancouver tried this with one street for a few months and decided naaah not for us 🙄
“To use a technical term, it blew my mind,” said Vancouver’s former chief planner Brent Toderian…”They weren’t lazy about it—they didn’t just throw up barriers and ban cars. It might be the best bargain I’ve ever heard,” Toderian said. #Montreal

When you believe in personal liberties so much you order everyone to write about them.
SCOOP: WaPo Opinion editor David Shipley is out. Jeff Bezos emails staff about a change to Post Opinions: "We are going to be writing every day in support and defense of two pillars: personal liberties and free markets."

Why isn’t this been condemned internationally for what it is? A true threat to the sovereignty of a (former) ally
Trump during his Super Bowl interview: "I think Canada would be much better off being a 51st state because we lose $200 billion a year with Canada, and I'm not gonna let that happen."

Rare non hockey post
What flexposts say: "We could use steel bollards but a bollard might scratch a car and that would be a tragedy. So, we're going to use these instead — things literally designed to be run over — because protecting even one car from a scratch is worth thousands of pedestrian deaths every year."
Because city agencies are typically reactive, not proactive; crews aren’t scouring the city for downed flexposts. But in a rare victory for municipal services, explains @johnsurico.bsky.social, if you tell them, they will come.

I realize now that I have a “trade deficit” with the store across the street. I walked over and bought a jug of milk. The store is abusing me and I’m tired of subsidizing it by buying something at a fair price that I want. I’m going to apply a tariff that will raise the future price of milk for me.
