We have only 2.4 hospital beds per 1000 people, compared to 7.8 in Germany, 5.8 in France & an OECD average of 5.0.

We also have 1 in 8 beds occupied by medically fit patients needing social care - an issue that Labour won’t definitively address until 2028 at the earliest. Simply disastrous. (2/2)

The last photo of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, detained after refusing to abandon his colleagues and patients.

In just one image, we see both the power of Palestinian humanity and the moral weakness of all those complicit in genocide.

End all arms sales to Israel, now.

Can we just admit that we NEED immigrants for our economy to run, from agriculture to high tech?

We’re a goddamn nation of immigrants, aren’t we? Let’s be proud of our immigrant heritage!

During my PhD I experienced severe anxiety and depression, along with suicide ideation. Thankfully I got help and I'm still here. As a student I went to find a book mental illness and how to cope during a PhD and didn't find one. That's how "Managing Your Mental Health During Your PhD" came to be.

Here's the link to my ongoing mega-thread on the empirical evidence in support of universal basic income. Please help amplify it by sharing it with others here on Bluesky.

I've been researching the idea of Unconditional Universal Basic Income since 2013. Here's a collection of findings I've compiled from various UBI experiments and studies of cash transfer programs around the world.

This will be a VERY LONG and ongoing thread focused entirely on empirical evidence. 🧵

Would you know how to treat a burn? Remember the three C's 👇

1⃣ Clothing: remove it from the affected area

2⃣ Cool the wound with running water

3⃣ Cover the wound once cool

Attend A&E immediately if the wound is bigger than your hand, very deep or on your hand, face or neck.

"You're not like my 8 year old autistic son!"

Many things are out of kids control - uncomfy clothes, loud noises, food, confusing rules.

As an adult, I make my own choices. I wear, eat and do what I like, if I don't, I get overloaded.

That's why I don't remind you of your 8 year old autistic son.

Aside from monotropism, sensory processing differences, the double empathy problem, and pervasive drive for autonomy, are there any other autism theories that are not stigmatising and based on differences as autistic people experience them?

An autistic person who isn't communicating the same way you would isn’t necessarily communicating wrongly.

It's a two way process. It's not solely the responsibility of autistic people to resolve communication problems.

If you're non autistic, ask yourself what you can do to improve the situation.
