You're one accident, fall or illness away from being disabled. Again, some of y'all vote like nothing will never happen to you, your kids or future grandkids...

There’s significant overlap between those who judge the disabled for being sick & blame the unhoused for being poor.

People believe it will never happen to them. That they can “try harder” their way out.

The reality is homelessness & disability can happen to anyone and often occur together

You can eat all organic food, drink green juice every day, do yoga, get vitamin D and touch grass… and still become disabled.

Wellness culture can’t save you from disability. What’s worse, most wellness “gurus” will blame you when you become ill.

Wellness culture is toxic & eugenics adjacent.

New article coming about the importance of maintaining your baseline when living with chronic illness.

Non disabled people often can’t understand why our baselines are so important.

When you’ve lost your health, your priorities shift. Retaining whatever function you have left becomes everything

A little while ago, my parents' cat Bridget went missing. As the weeks dragged on, they became extremely worried. My dad devised a way to distract himself: he began to paint Bridget's adventures, imagining her travelling through time and popping up in some of art and music's most iconic scenes.

Also, if you know anyone on ODSP, talk to them, all other candidates BUT Ford are offering to DOUBLE it. That's just how bad it is right now. Get them all out to vote, this will change so many lives. This is HUGE motivation to go and vote out this horrible man who doesn't care about us. votewell.ca

Healthcare is Ontario's election issue. Heart attacks in chairs. People deteriorating or dying on EMS stretchers. Ontario - these are your families. Your ERs are beyond capacity. You decide if this is what you want, if this government over 7 years has succeeded or not. #cdnpoli

Unlike Ontario's Premier, I don't blame patients for coming to the ER. The problem in Canada is that profiteers are just salivating to capture the need for urgent care. The fundamental problem of ERs is not kids with fevers, it's the admitted with no hospital beds.

1 in 7 ER visits in Canada are for conditions that could have been managed in primary care: report | CBC News
Lack of access to family doctors and other primary care providers leaves more Canadians with no option than to go to the emergency department for care, new data suggests.

In 1966, Bill Mason released his short live-action film Paddle to the Sea with the National Film Board.
Acclaimed upon its release, it was shown to Canadian children in schools for decades.
Let's learn about this famous film based off a book :)

Finland is teaching children in school how to recognize fake news and propaganda as part of critical thinking and civic responsibility. Some of this will seem very familiar.
