I need to watch Reacher, but this sounds like the sort of space Banshee occupies in my head.

I've had this done - have they left a load of wadding up your nose with instructions to keep it moist? If so, really don't skimp on the keeping it moist part!

Their headline yesterday was far too wishy-washy. It's slightly better today, but it really still falls short of conveying the deliberately false nature of the report. "Unproven" still gives far too much wiggle room.

I'm in note limbo - it feels like writing with pen/paper is better for my memory retention, but then finding notes afterwards becomes a nightmare. I'd love a search function for paper notes 😆

Also, actual debate is often a great thing, but what the vast majority of these people call "debate" is just a platform for them to lie through their teeth. It has very little to do with actual debate.

It feels like the appointment of RFK as Secretary of Health in the USA has also undermined a lot of the basis for that trust. Of course, the problem of not believing the government on vaccines predates that, but now, generally smart people have to be careful about what comes out of his department.

I mean it's pretty simple: they do not respect other people enough to value them over their own childish prerogative to say whatever they like to without thinking. bsky.app/profile/zach...
My basic response to the question of pronouns defaults to, "Why would I speak to someone in a way that hurts them on purpose?" A lot of people - maybe most people - in this country apparently don't feel that way, and I guess I'll just never understand that.
