How a flawed idea is teaching millions of kids to be poor readers
For decades, schools have taught children the strategies of struggling readers, using a theory about reading that cognitive scientists have repeatedly debunked. And many teachers and parents don't kno...

Mark L. Wolf has resigned as a federal judge in Massachusetts, a position he's held since 1985:

"My reason is simple: I no longer can bear to be restrained by what judges can say publicly or do outside the courtroom. Pres. Donald Trump is using the law for partisan purposes."

Instead of folding like cheap chairs, Democrats should have forced the GOP to end the shutdown by killing the filibuster. Holding onto the archaic, antidemocratic tradition doesn't help them stop fascism, it makes them complicit to it.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

That’s what it is, what I was getting at about my texts this morning.

Regular people don’t think I’m so crazy now.
It is very weird seeing my friends and family slowly start to realize we're not overreacting.

I got this useful bon mot from a middle school teacher recently.

In response to, “I DONT UNDERSTAND,” he calmly said, “okay what steps have you taken to understand?”

And that’s when I realized that a lot of folks have no steps.

She's a right-wing content marketer who doesn't require standards bc she's creating ads for GOP.
