Excellent and coherent explanation
Here is my latest for @msnbc.com, on Trump's ill-advised concept of a plan for health care, which entails repealing the ACA, and redistributing private insurers' tax breaks to the people for what would essentially amount to an HSA, which is unhelpful if not wealthy. www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...
Opinion | Trump’s new plan for Obamacare leaves Americans to fend for themselves
We finally know what “concepts of a plan” looks like – and it’s not good.

Probably the right move. It was the right hire at the time, and it just hasn't worked out.
BREAKING: The Giants are firing head coach Brian Daboll after Sunday’s loss to the Bears, per sources.
Daboll, who won Coach of the Year in 2022, finishes his New York tenure with a 20-40-1 record in 3+ seasons.

My hot take is that there are at least a few SCOTUS justices who would love to overturn Obergfell, but this Kim Davis gambit was never going to be the vehicle for getting that done.

I like the analogy here from @joshtpm.bsky.social . The Democrats were driving down the field and then fumbled the ball near the goal line.

I am trying to look forward to December. Either the Dems don't get the vote on ACA subsidies they were "promised," or they get a vote and it doesn't pass. Both scenarios are pretty bad for the GOP, right?

My freshman year of college, I took an intro public policy course. One weekend, our assignment was to conduct a mock negotiation with another student on some pre-assigned policy issue. I forget what the issue was, but I remember that I was assigned to negotiate against a student named Jodi.

I am no political scientist, and I don't fully trust Axios, but I feel strongly that Schumer and the Dems should not agree to a "deal" that includes a pinky promise from the GOP.

Pitch-level betting and bet rigging is nasty stuff
Breaking news per Jeff Passan: “Cleveland Guardians pitchers Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz have been indicted by prosecutors in Brooklyn on a host of charges related to a scheme to rig bets on pitches thrown in MLB games. Ortiz was arrested in Boston earlier today. Clase is not currently in custody”

One of, if not the most popular thing Trump did during Trump 1.0 was to give $ to people as a stimulus. So, it's no surprise that he is now promoting:
*A check to everyone as a "tariff rebate"
*Direct funds instead of subsidies for health insurance
People love getting money.
