A Toronto councillor unwittingly reinforces a truism about Canadian urban planning: choice about where to live - whether quiet or not - is for people who can afford detached/low density homes. To protect this, everyone else - especially renters - needs to have their choices constrained.
"We are talking about the quality of life of people in quiet residential neighbourhoods, who chose to live in these neighbourhoods because they are quiet. They did not choose to live in them because of commercial activity," explains Holyday.

Not surprised the Aussies are ahead of the game on this one.
Although enforcement will be difficult bordering on impossible, it’s good to see public acknowledgement of the harms social media can cause to developing (and even “developed” brains.
And yes I know posting about it on Bluesky is ironic
