Yes. This. All comes back to assessment.

The problem is assessment. As long the main way of doing assessment is judging learning via the asynchronous evaluation of a digital asset as a proxy for it is as long as we’ll have a problem

Confirming what we already know @bpp-gai.bsky.social.
AI detection doesn’t work
Staff cannot detect AI reliably
You cannot train people to spot AI
AI can do (many) assessments.

Embracing AI into assessment is way forwards.

We have seen the depreciation of GPT plugins as Open Ai remove them. Will GoogleNotebook LM go the same way? It raised the challenge of reliance on tools that we have not control over and could disappear at any time.

Leaders, don’t model being the first one in and the last one out; model leaving at a reasonable hour to exercise, spend time with family, relax, think. Model not working at weekends. Model not checking emails on leave. Model rest. Model healthy relationships with work

This arrived today and I wanted to read it more out of curiosity than necessity as the work we already do @bpp-gai.bsky.social is advancing so rapidly.

However, it was nice to read & I’m already nearly half way through.

A fab chapter on how GAI can help students with English as a 2nd Lang. CH4.

Work from home was a boon to productive workers and an absolute catastrophe for the group of middle managers and executives who make their living putting their names on other people's work and that latter group started to undermine it as soon as they realized this.
I do not understand why, after remote work has been repeatedly proven to be just as productive (if not more so) than in-office work, people should be required to return to in-office work in order to justify the money the bosses spent on real estate.
Demanding that people go back to the office five days a week has been shown to punish staff who are lower-income, parents, and disabled. It is also not necessary for reporters and journalists who do much of their work in the field, on the phone, or on laptop computers that can be used anywhere.
