It's great that reporting on the double tap has spotlighted the abject criminality of this Administration.

But don't forget: Venezuela is not waging war on America or Americans, and the men killed were not combatants.

The first strike was every bit as illegal as the second.

At this point, our intro comp/first-year English course has been so heavily revised, it no longer includes a novel, or "extended reading" of any kind, no "specialized" or "historical" reading, mostly in-class assignments, no research essay...and we are still seeing a 40-50% rate of AI misconduct.

It’s crazy to think about the crimes we’re going to learn about after this regime ends.

We’re already hearing about Watergate level crimes every week. Imagine what will come out after it’s over.

We’re going to need a full accounting of all that’s been done in violation of the constitution.

The Speaker of the House is telling the Fox News audience that a peaceful demonstration by Americans on the National Mall will actually be a gathering of organizations the administration has designated as violent terrorists.

Seems bad?
Mike Johnson: "We're so angry about it. I mean, I'm a very patient guy, but I've had it with these people. The theory we have right now -- they have a hate America rally that's scheduled for October 18 on the National Mall. It's the pro-Hamas wing and antifa people ... "

Bray is a historian at Rutgers who received death threats after landing on Turning Points USA's Professor Watchlist. As a result, he announced he was moving to Europe. And then this happened.

This kind of harassment and abuse of scholars is Charlie Kirk's legacy and it's only getting worse.
“Someone” cancelled my family’s flight out of the country at the last second.

We got our boarding passes. We checked our bags. Went through security. Then at our gate our reservation ‘disappeared.’

Gov Pritzker reports that Trump is demanding he activate the National Guard in Illinois, or Trump will.

To recap:
•IL violent crime rate is 310/100K
•USA violent crime rate is 374/100K
•Red states have a 40% higher murder rate than do blue states

This isn't national security—it's fascist autocracy

Russ Vought isn’t really a bureaucrat, he’s an anti-constitutional criminal seizing a bunch of unlawful powers to conduct economic warfare against hundreds of millions of Americans because they live in states that voted against his patron.
Next move from OMB - canceling $8 billion in clean energy funds. You will note, all of the projects are in states led by Democrats

JD Vance is a bald-faced lying. Again. Call him out. Every single time.
Vance: "If you're an American citizen & you've been to the hospital in the last few years, you've probably noticed wait times are especially large & very often somebody who's there in the ER is an illegal alien. Why do those people get healthcare benefits at hospitals paid for by American citizens?"

No. I see no purpose in self-celebration, but I don't disparage other people's right to engage in it.

I never make any plans or take time off on my birthday, but I won't discourage anyone from doing something special for me that day.
4a. Is your birthday a big deal to you?

And our intelligence allies probably won’t share intel with us. Because people couldn’t vote for a woman.

I prefer to understand all historical events, as then I would have knowledge of every event that occurred in my life.
Last question - Would you rather have instant knowledge of all scientific facts or an instant understanding of all historical events?

This is the end of today's episode. As always, I love you all and I'll see you in the next thread

Had a good conversation with my dad yesterday where we were able to dig into my #unraveling process. We focused on how my attitude toward Christianity has changed. I don't look at how well people follow the rules, but on whether their attitude and behavior mirrors what Jesus proclaimed.

Recently I was #unraveling the distinction between "joy" and "happiness." In evangelical circles, joy is often framed as something not influenced by external factors, as we should "joyful in the Lord" despite hard times. But even the happiest people can be beaten down circumstances.
