ICE is the mob, SPPD. Hope that helps you decide which side you want to be on.

Hey Chief Henry: part of making sure no laws are broken is confirming that masked agents who won’t identify themselves are actually who they say they are, and that they have the legal right to take a Saint Paul resident into custody.

37 years ago today, we finished Thanksgiving dinner early and my parents let us bring dessert into the living room to watch the first two episodes of Mystery Science Theater 3000.

OH HELL YEAH
November 25, 2025 at 4:28 AM
Hell yeah, this was great! Part of the era where there were suddenly a bunch of gay-themed comedies that were super earnest and funny as hell.
November 25, 2025 at 3:56 AM
Yup, but luckily not one of the batteries with the issue.
November 24, 2025 at 9:17 PM
Luckily, my RadPower bike is not part of the issue, but check yours!

I don’t mean to be annoying, friends, but what the heck? The previous two KNIVES OUT films have been at Alamo Twin Cities, and you have the right to play it as long as you want, but where is it?

Great time at @foundfootagefest.com at the Heights Theater!

And here it is in action:

My secret craft project is revealed! A wearable Edmund Fitzgerald so @sithlet.bsky.social could be the @mnrollerderby.bsky.social Bodies of Water mascot, “Gail O. November”!
November 23, 2025 at 1:47 AM
Before the @mnrollerderby.bsky.social bout starts in an hour, there’s a kids derby game between Minnesota and Sioux Falls
November 22, 2025 at 11:16 PM
They have their own lot separate from the arena lot with 10-11 spaces! I’ve eaten there my whole life and think I parked on the street twice.

National anthems in sports are, of course, dumb, but if we have to have them:

1) The singer(s) should give as much power and flourish to the Canadian and American anthems.
2) This lil’ eagle animation in the corner during the American anthem is silly as heck.

It was specifically the Eden Prairie one (because they have a fireplace and weird food court?) with an honorable mention to Rosedale.

It’s what seems to be a franchised podcast called “City Cast Twin Cities”. There’s a lot of discussion on their Instagram post.

5) The Main Cinema
The only 1980s theater on the list, its five small-to-medium screens have a great mix of arthouse/foreign films as well as traditional Hollywood releases. I walked out of TITANIC here an hour into the movie.

4) Alamo Drafthouse Twin Cities
I’ve been an Alamo regular for 25 years despite it being 1000 miles away, and had been hounding co-founder Tim League for years to open here. I finally got my wish, albeit in the burbs.

Simply the best projection and sound, & the talking/texting enforcement is tops.

3) Riverview Theater
1948 neighborhood theater that somehow survived! 600 person capacity in a precursor to modern “stadium” seating, they have reasonably priced tickets and concessions, and up to 5 different movies a day!
November 21, 2025 at 4:27 PM
2) The Heights
A 99(!) year old mini-palace that spent a few decades as a discount house, I grew up going to $1 movies here. Around 2000, Tom Letness bought the place and transformed it back to its former glory. It’s so important to my family, we had my wedding and my mom’s funeral there.

1) Trylon Cinema (@trylon.org)
Formerly a 50-seat “microcinema” now double the size, the Trylon has by far the finest programming in town. Sad Japanese melodramas mix with 70s gorefests, French expressionism, classic film noir, and everything in between.

I don’t wanna kinkshame this ICE apologist, but…

I think this almond chocolate bar needs 6-8 more almonds.
November 20, 2025 at 5:23 AM
Why do you post that tickets are available before they are available in all markets?
November 19, 2025 at 11:12 PM
One year away!

Allegedly!
