I've always enjoyed Amanda Petrusich's writing and she's turned me on to a lot of great music but the assertion that Geese sounds like a New York band (however you define that) is baffling to me. They don't sound like they're from anywhere, which is part of the magic of the record.

Things are so boring. Everything is going great. But we still have to fill column inches!

Does anyone know what Greg Bovino's undergrad and graduate degrees are? Feels like this could be instructive.

These people have no moral center, nothing. They are nihilists.
I thought they said it was wrong for an administration to ask a social media platform to take stuff down.

No matter where you go in the world someone has A-ha’s “Take On Me” ready to go on the portable speaker or ukulele and that is that is because it’s a remarkable song.

Finally got a chance to catch @homeiswhereforever.bsky.social tonight. Love this band. Thank you @ekkoastral.bsky.social for the tip a while back.

Between the Disney Adults and Gwar, I’m a little concerned we might be sending our strongest units to the front too quickly.

Woke up this morning feeling pretty awful about things. So I made a list of 5 small, positive actions I could take today. Just crossed off #1:

Why are we arguing about the politics of the victim and the murderer instead of how we got to this place where there are too many guns and not enough access to mental health care?
We do not know that he was murdered by a groyper.

I continue to be shocked how people have jumped to this conclusion and stating it as absolute fact.

I spend hours every day monitoring Neo-Nazis and I’m not saying it!
Only if they actually deep dive. Go over to YouTube now and dozens of vids deifying him. And the irony is he was killed by a further right groyper. And yet theyre demonizing the left.

This is the drug that is a 100% effective treatment for HIV. this is the one you've been seeing in the news. I would LOVE to see an in-depth discussion of exactly what "clinical, financial, and regulatory factors" are keeping them from essentially carrying a cure to a deadly disease.

This is awesome: a "WKRP in Cincinnati" fan created a three-hour Johnny Fever radio block, by using clips from the TV show and dropping in the full songs on his intros and outros, plus commercials and Les Nessman news breaks.

Crazy weather alert:

Atlanta is not expected to get out of the 60s tomorrow. To put that in perspective, the average LOW temperature on August 4 is 71.7. The lowest daily high for the date is 75 in 1966. We should smash that record. #atlanta #weather

I celebrated my 21st birthday at a Chuck E. Cheese in Durham, NC. Don't judge. Chuck E. came out to sing me Happy Birthday and five minutes later, through the kitchen doors, we saw a guy dressed just like him but with a human head cooking our pizza. Good times!
A Chuck E. Cheese employee in full costume was arrested by Tallahassee officers for credit card fraud

Well, I forgot my roommate from my summer 2012 apartment sublet in D.C. is now the Secretary of the Army, until tonight, when he told Fox News there is a troop on the moon
For those who do not have access or care to go to Twitter for the video, here is the video of the U.S. Secretary of the Army stating that there is currently a soldier on the moon:

Give whoever did this a Nobel Prize.
Did you know someone reverse-engineered the Weather Channel computer system from the 80s/90s and now you can generate your own private weather channel for your location?

Within the last couple of months my 10-year-old daughter and 8-year-old have ridden public transportation -- at night -- in both Atlanta and NYC and loved it.

These so-called "Alphas" are the weakest, whiniest people on the planet.
Sean Duffy: "The truth is, transit across America is dangerous. And these liberals -- liberal mayors -- they want everybody out of cars and into trains but they made the trains unsafe so nobody really wants to ride them ... even big men don't want to ride the subway at those times of night."
