Just A Tinker
@john-gardi.bsky.social
I've always been a tinker.
I started by taking stuff apart.
Then I learned how to put stuff back together, then how to fix it.
It's a way of life for me really.

Did pounder pete not even read the rules or listen to his teachers in officer's school?
It's right there in black and white as an 𝘦𝘹𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦 of what's illegal!
Make an example of 𝘩𝘪𝘮!😒
Good thing he was a commissioned officer so he isn't sullying the reputations of NCOs, the pride a western militaries.
Senator Kelly is correct.

Plus a Public Service Announcement:

KEY section of Department of Defense's Law of War Manual is 18.3.2.1.

The VERY rule on the "requirement" to refuse illegal orders gives as its paradigmatic example of what is "clearly illegal:
"orders to fire upon the shipwrecked."

Thank you for the tip, they're a good as you said they were!

I'm beginning to think there's been enough pushback from Congress and others to postpone and possibly halt in its tracks the orange demagogue's illegal attack on Venezuela.
Fingers crossed! 🤞

As someone born with 10% vision I can honestly say that eyesight is highly overrated.
I can fix that, step closer... 🤟
Botox. Plastic surgery. That make-up. What is going on with the MAGA look?

They can't do a lot of things... like thinking for instance.
They are as reactionary as the squirrel I just saw at my window.
Famously, in tabloid journalism, three is a trend and I can now definitively declare that MAGA can’t cook. And these are the “foods” they are proud of and want to show off! No wonder they want to rid the country of immigrants and their dangerous seasonings.

@indivisible.org: Better call an emergency march for 𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘺 if you want to have 𝘢𝘯𝘺 hope of stopping this war.
Be proactive, not reactive.

Interesting architecture from this UK based startup.
It's a small rocket like Electron but has a clamshell fairing like Neutron because they intend to recover their payloads.
They'll also recover the booster & balloon.

Calling these aircraft 'fly by wire' is a misnomer, they a 'fly by computer'!
I'm sure there is redundancy in the flight control system but if all the flight computers suffer the same failure mode to an external event, it could be a bad day.
This is pretty massive.

There is scant detail so far but they say "solar radiation" has caused problems for some aircraft.

This *could* be related to single-event upsets, where cosmic rays trigger computer errors. I've asked Airbus if they can share more detail.

It's criminalization of abortion in America that's causing young women to want to leave.
Canada decriminalized abortion in the late '80s & I helped do that!

The service platform is the square part with the round top at the bottom of the pit, the folding service towers seem undamaged.
The service platform slides under the Soyuz once it's erected to give access to engines and set up the 'matches' used to light the engines.
Do they still do that, Anatoly?

@ubermeisters.bsky.social Had a chance to test fly the Wright Flyer in the Parish Hall at the Church I stream Sunday Services for.
Father Michael is a nerd priest (and 3D printer user) so he's all in.
It gained altitude but the plane was too fast and the hall wasn't big enough to do a full circuit.
