This @bsky.app is absolutely nailing in it in every way. In layout & functionality it already feels like home. If numbers keep growing in this phenomenal way & with advertisers fleeing X like rats leaving a sinking ship I can’t see how the other place can survive, at least not in its present state

This November has been the month when Elon Musk lost Britain.

"Creating a new wild west that nourishes trolls, bots and racists has sent UK users flocking to a BlueSky platform which reminds many nostalgic users of what Twitter once was"

A word on the Allison Pearson free speech row, and what she describes as a ‘Kafkaesque’ threat to it. We asked her on @thenewsagents.bsky.social to discuss.
She said: ‘No. And if you get any aspect of the story wrong my lawyers will be watching.’
Gotta love a free speech warrior 🤷🏻‍♂️

Pretty astonishing to see the co-leader of the Greens opposing the closure of a tax break used by multi-millionaires, which doubles as a wealth tax.

Now? This decision should have been made two years ago. Too little, too late. Biden’s handling of this conflict, and the Middle East, on top of withdrawal from Afghanistan, borders on criminally negligent, has emboldened enemies, and resulted in misery for millions. And now we have Trump. 🤬🤬🤬

No. I was living in London during brexit in Toewr Hamlets one of the most remain areas in the country. I was sure the country wouldn't be so stupid, I should have listened more to what my family was saying. If you want to know more about Brexit/Trump follow Carole Cadwalladr on Bluesky.

The engagement on these posts is soooo much higher than what the Guardian was getting on Twitter by the end.

And principles are one thing but if you're a publisher wanting to drive traffic then Twitter hiding external links means it's probably more beneficial to your business to be on here.
By popular demand… the Guardian is officially on BlueSky

I was so naive last week - joking these picks were like choosing Harold shipman to run the DOH. But I get it now. If you fundamentally hate federal government and want all gov departments to swiftly fail , this is exactly what you’d do ..

A lot of us have grown up with Paddington, across different generations. In thinking about Paddington as a story about migration & refugees, the question is whether & why we would value fables + positive stories: this idealised narrative in a children's story about Britain as a welcoming society
