What Trump wants from tariffs is public displays of submission and/or bribes.

Japan isn't going to do that. Most countries won't do that. They're open to actual trade negotiations, but that would mean doing something for America, and the Trump admin simply does not think that way. They have no ask.
Been saying this since his first term. Trump is legit a back of the napkin moron. He doesn’t have plans. He has no ideas. He isn’t a hard worker. He is just a blow hard.

The State Department has also been forced to freeze the Fulbright Program and and Critical Languages Scholarships, among other exchange programs, because nothing says "America First" like "we don't care about understanding other places anymore"
This has kind of gotten buried in the news cycle for obvious reason, but the Presidential Management Fellows program has been shut down.

It's another example of how this Admin is canceling out the next generation of leaders.
