My father had friends of many creeds and colors. He taught us to be fascinated by humanity’s differences. Then Fox News ruined him, injecting him with fear. He’s gone now, and I want to have fond memories. But I can’t help thinking of him as an avatar for how the right wing has poisoned my country.
