I hate to rat out my generation, but #cursive sucks. It was awful to have to learn, we all hated it (except the couple of kids in the class with perfect handwriting), and the only thing we ever did with it was learn our signatures. To this day, none of us remember how to make a capital Q.

Things make a lot more sense when you realize that a lot of folks are willing to pay a steep price for punishing Black and brown folks, women, and LGBTQ folks just for existing. It's not that they don't understand the cost of their actions, they just value the "reward" of those actions a lot more.

Part of the utility of an empty signifier like #DEI for Republicans is that they can fit anything at all into that category and then denounce it without having to use any reference beyond the three letters. It's not racism, it's anti-DEI. It's not erasing history, it's anti-DEI. #Woke is the same.
