Semiotic observation. I think this was supposed to be hopscotch but I didn’t realise til I saw it went up to twelve because hearts in rows and pairs don’t signify hopscotch like squares.

I looked at the stack of books on the chair beside my desk and it seemed rather appropriate.

Here's the book blurb if you wanna know more.

My chapters are 6. Consolidating performance: Reflection in the service of developing presentation skills; and with my colleague Jennifer Walsh Marr, 10. Framing the looking glass: Reflecting constellations of listening for inclusion.

The semiotics of our surroundings is interesting. This exit sign is in Canada and red. I guess for emergency. In Australia they’re all green and standardised. I don’t know if it’s true but what I learnt as a kid is they are green because in an emergency that’s where you *go*.

Hi Bluesky, how’s it going?

I swapped my home desk to the other side of the room last night. So it feels like anything is possible.

Literally saw this on Sunday and was delighted by the ludicrousness of a chicken milk jug.

The clongs are a bit ridiculous but fun but the kneed is pushing the naming conventions.

The secret high of being a single woman, living by yourself, and doing something you didn’t think you could do because there’s no one else to do it.

(I somehow jammed my NutriBullet on its base with two of three tabs locked in. Took me 28 hours but I finally freed the smoothie)

💪🏻☺️

On this day 9 years ago at the end of my first semester of teaching a student made a doge grammar cake. It was so wow.

Sadly doge no longer works for explaining the difference between epithets and classifiers to undergrads.

If you tap on the cog top right you can add different feeds. You need to be added to eve feed to contribute then there are emojis or hashtags that will trigger your post to go in the feed. But mostly I like scrolling pictures of birds.

All this is fair and true and just. But I think it is important for all millennials to know there are now safety light slap bands.

I verbed myself today. If you use your name as a verb what does it mean? #linguistics

My absolute favourite #birds 🪶fact atm is that falcons are more closely related to parrots than to other birds of prey. So when I saw these two birds at the Capilano Suspension Bridge, I was fascinated to look closely at their beaks! More info: www.australiangeographic.com.au/topics/wildl...
