What is this post going to achieve?

POTUS Felon doesn’t get that businesses always pass costs on to customers. His Tariffs are the cause of significant price rises in America, he doesn’t want to accept this

He should take a good look at himself using his presidency to get richer

To all the magnificent NHS & care staff from other countries with whom I work - please know how very much we value your skills, your decency, your humanity, your dedication.

Care is the glue of society.

We are so very lucky to have you.

Can’t quote post the post I just saw talking about food service workers going to work sick but yeah. I don’t even wanna talk about how many of my coworkers have come in sick or how many times I’ve been advised to go in sick
“The Food Standards Agency (FSA) estimates that approximately one in 28 people suffer from some form of foodborne illness every year in the UK.

Not great.

But in America, around one in six people experience some form of food poisoning ever year.

Definitely much worse.”
UK-US trade deal: No, the UK population does not want to buy American food
There are currently so many reasons not to go to America – for me, food is at the top of that list

1 in 6?
So roughly the same number of people who suffer bankruptcies as a result of medical bills?

What a wonderful place the US is.

I sometimes wonder how people feel, who became mutuals, after following me for art & end up also getting advice on protecting human rights.

I look at how Picasso spent his entire life campaigning for peace & that in art, the personal is political. But I appreciate my mutuals’ indulgence of me!
🧵 US activism & how it doesn’t work. So I scrolled thru the most popular ‘outrage’ posts:

▪️Qatari airplane
▪️ICE arrests
▪️RFK Jnr sewage
▪️White S Africans
▪️Gov Pritzker
▪️Houthis, Yemen
▪️Drug costs
▪️US Attorney General
▪️Putin
▪️Afghan refugees

How can anyone not be overloaded with panic & chaos? [1]

I stole this. But it really hits home for me. I have felt let down when I have known good should prevail. It upsets me the more this goes on. It’s not right. Americans should be better than this.

The difference between Gaza and Ukraine is not the war crimes committed against hundreds of thousands by Israel and Russia, but we condemn and sanction Putin, but appease and support Netanyahu

Exactly.

Remember— it could always be much, MUCH worse and we should keep voting for improvement at each election, not to just throw it all away in the pursuit of immediate perfection.

Yes, this is uncomfortable. But it's the most practical way to achieve improvements.

Hahaha. John Curtice is going to get his BBC contract cancelled at this rate. Advocating for PR!?!?

And Bridget Phillipson's smugness and dismissiveness at the idea of changing FPTP…😬.

Damn those second-choice votes might have come in handy last week?? 🤔

🌹 Labour's official policy recognises that First Past the Post is "flawed" and driving "distrust & alienation" in politics

⚠️ Now, multi-party politics is colliding with a 2-party system - and inaction is becoming untenable

🎯 We need a National Commission for Electoral Reform

First Past the Post for mayoral elections is a scandal.

6 of 6 mayors elected against the wishes of a majority of their voters.

An average winning vote share of just 32.33%.

In what world is this justifiable?

Bring back preferential voting.

The Court of Appeal ruled last week anti-protest laws which completely ignored the will of Parliament are UNLAWFUL

Will the Government now do the right thing & scrap these unlawful regulations which they opposed in opposition?
