Not the singer. Lover of music, the moving image and clearing/administering the rights that make it all go together. No, I’m not listening to your demo or Soundcloud

There will be absolutely zero posts related to my working life here, so if you have followed for that reason I’m sorryboutcha. Mostly using this thing as a means to keep up with Twitter folks I enjoyed and to try to distract myself in the face of societal collapse

I don’t think I know more than a handful of people over the age of 65 who bother with online banking, my parent included. This is going to be GREAT for everyone 😒

To quote Marisa, the wife of #JDTwitch, in her post: "the most meaningful way to honour Keith is to keep playing his music, sharing your memories, and supporting the causes he cared about." In this thread, please find a series of links that will allow you to do just that. Please share widely:

Firing a Black woman for quoting Kirk’s horrific statements about Black women is insane. It seems the Washington Post would rather perform politeness (and demand that the people Kirk harmed do it too) that tell the truth: karenattiah.substack.com/p/the-washin...

If you're protesting ICE in Chicago, let me know at sheryl@weikallaw.com if you need free legal training or legal support. If you're arrested protesting ICE, I can represent you pro bono. Email me at sheryl@weikallaw.com. As always, I will take as many cases as I can.

Despite the academic capitulations, media collapse, and Trump's attacks on history and race, it's now more important than ever to teach on all of these issues.

So I will.

I have set up an independent course to teach Race, Media and International Affairs 101 and 102 in October.

Increasingly not liking this app so much due to account permissions, visibility and functionality; if we’re friends and know one another well, feel free to find me on Threads. I’m over there.

Chicago is fed 👏🏾 up 👏🏾 😌
Pritzker: To the members of the press who are assembled here today and listening across the country, I am asking for your courage to tell it like it is. This is not a time to pretend here that there are two sides to this story.

Even when the world feels bleak, it is a huge comfort to walk into a venue, hear your friends playing for their lives and to see them afterward, satisfied that they were able to create and share. Every day I have Chicago to thank for this in one way or another and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

I find it very interesting that JB Pritzker (with whom I disagree on many things) actually did way more substantive stuff to combat Trump and still gets less credit than Newsom because Newsom posted some tweets

there is a demand for consensus—the best scene, film, moment, group, band, zip code, et al— across mediums; in the process of one-ness we flatten the expansive nature of being into one nothingness. without contention we cease to feel anything deeply.

Sometimes you just have to be the fox in the coop.

It’s humbling as hell to take a resume history of 15+ years in a specialized field and retool that puppy so that it fits back into the administrative world that you left in an attempt to just find stable work - especially after having lived through the worst year of your adult life.
