I read The Double Helix as an undergraduate. I was a science major at a women’s college taking molecular biology. Our professor taught us that Watson & Crick screwed Rosalind Franklin over.

So I read the book to learn more. I’ll never forget how reading this passage made me feel.

Still incredibly disappointing that Canada can look at the consequences of aid cuts by other countries earlier this year, and then not only put out a budget that slashes $2.7 billion from international assistance, but put that $2.7 billion in a column labelled "savings".

In Syria, the need to rebuild from the country's long civil war is colliding with the desire to learn the full truth about what happened.

My report from the Daraa region, where I spent a day with a White Helmets team that's still digging up the country's dead.
In Syria, the race to rebuild from civil war frustrates efforts to unearth the truth
White Helmets have collected more than 1,200 bodies and found 70 mass graves in the first 11 months since the fall of Assad

Delighted that Kamran’s Editor’s Choice highlights our new BMJ Collection 📈 🇨🇳

And our cautionary editorial arguing that well designed, large scale research can benefit #globalhealth, but international collaboration is key to unlocking China’s full potential:

Watch his victory speech for how it gives zero time to the nonsense binary of "idpol" vs "class politics". The stars of that speech are the *multi-ethnic* working class. It's a speech grounded in the rich complexity of material reality, not two dimensional caricatures and facile abstractions.

"Centrists" need to call Mamdani a "radical leftist" so they can say Trump/Farage fascism is just the opposing side of an equally matched "both sides" conflict

But Mamdani is just a middle of the road, European social democrat

And "centrists" - ie centre-right and right - are simply pro-fascism.
BBC Radio 4 this morning joined Trump in describing Zohran Mamdani as a "radical leftist".
