#WriteCBC task from @joannamillerauthor.bsky.social:
Your character is wandering around a museum looking for a person or an object. Use specific detail and surprising imagery to reflect their state of mind. Perhaps they are hiding something from others – or even from themselves?

#WriteCBC tip from @joannamillerauthor.bsky.social:
Sparing use of surprising or unusual imagery can make a scene pop for a reader and help to layer character. Consider what figurative language your character might use and what it reveals about them on a subconscious level.

As we get to the very end of June I thought I'd post my top reads of the year so far (from books that are already published)
As I read a pretty much 50/50 split of fiction & non fiction I thought I'd do the same here but it was far harder to narrow the non fiction down!

28th book of the year! I’ve read some wonderful books in 2025 so far, but The Eights by @joannamillerauthor.bsky.social has definitely been one of my favourites. Such a gorgeously detailed portrait of four female students at Oxford in 1920. Highly recommended!
