PhD here. I research for a living. There are numerous ways to engage in nonviolent civil protest proven more successful than violence.

No book, song, or museum collection can adequately portray how bad slavery was. But brave works can open a light on our past that is hard to put out.

If you are angry about the Smithsonian whitewash, we recommend watching (or reading!) The Underground Railroad.

Why does everyone praising Newsom feel the need to add that that they don't especially like him? There's a freaking rapist in the WH and fascism is taking root. We need someone with cajones, smarts, and the willingness to harness power. It's not a popularity contest, people.

With MythoWriMo, we invite you to join the myth community for a dedicated month of writing so we can all share our process and inspire each other.

When mythologists write together, we lift each other, and our own work grows in the process.

Embark on a mythic writing journey!

In this year’s Fates and Graces MythLit webinars, we saw again and again what a gift it is when mythologists accept the call to adventure to write. We also saw that writing takes endurance, consistency, and discipline.

If I'm correctly reading the room on this, cognitive dissonance has set in at scale. Beliefs and therefore *minds* are changing. It's a time of great volatility and opportunity, ie what new ideas might these minds embrace? I experienced something similar when I left the Mormon church ⬇️

Today marks the 177th anniversary of the Seneca Falls Convention—a key moment in the fight for women’s suffrage, equality, and justice.

That journey continues today—as we fight to ensure that ALL women have access to the ballot box, equal pay, bodily autonomy, and can lead.

Noting that “beautiful” is Trump’s standard term for the conscious abuse of large numbers of people, as in the promise to deport Gazans to some “beautiful” place. This language has to be treated as a subject in itself and not repeated.
When Dems considered an agenda called “Build Back Better,” mainstream news outlets agonized publicly about how they couldn’t use the term, and would instead call it, e.g., “Biden’s spending bill.” With Republicans in charge, calling their agenda One Big Beautiful Bill, that’s all out the window.

My support for law enforcement who defended our Capitol and democracy on January 6th is unwavering. As one of the last Members to be evacuated, I experienced it all. We must honor those who faced down that violent siege, stood in the breach for Liberty, and put their lives on the line that day.
